Joan Rivers' death was detailed by her only daughter, Melissa Rivers. According to a report from Mirror UK, the late comedy icon's only child shared how her mother died peacefully.

"I made sure she was in no pain and surrounded by those that she loved and loved her the most," she said.

"That she looked amazing and that the room was filled with flowers and music."

"I got into her bed and held her for a while. It was very peaceful," Melissa Rivers said.

Joan Rivers was 81 years old when her untimely death shocked the world September of last year. According to CNN, the late "Fashion Police" host passed away after a week-long coma which resulted from complications during a routine throat procedure.

The fatal operation took place at Yorkville Endoscopy, an Upper East Side clinic who is currently facing a multi-million dollar medical malpractice lawsuit from Melissa Rivers.

Instead of focusing too much on Joan Rivers' death and her legal battle with Yorkville Endoscopy, Melissa Rivers has been able to cope better after writing a book about her mother. The memoir is entitled "The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation."

In the book, the heiress of Joan Rivers' multi-million dollar estate opened up about her relationship with the iconic comedienne.

"There were ups and downs and conflict," she shared. "[We were] the best of friends and the biggest and best team mates."

"[We also wanted] to throttle each other half the time!" Melissa Rivers jokingly added.

The "Fashion Police" executive producer also shared how her teenage son, Cooper Endicott, initially had a hard time accepting Joan Rivers' death.

According to Daily Mail, Melissa Rivers' son is reportedly doing better after losing his beloved grandmother.

"He is figuring it all out[...] what is the new normal," Melissa Rivers said. "It just takes time."

"[Joan Rivers] was literally happiest when she was working or with Cooper," Melissa Rivers added.
