Having a global hit has its ugly side, too - just ask Psy.

The Korean entertainer recently admitted that after his "Gangnam Style" song became a pop culture phenomenon in 2012, he had difficulty facing the pressure to push out another track.

"I was initially not able to overcome the weight as a producer of 'Gangnam Style' and couldn't release any songs for the past two years," he reportedly said during a livestream show over the weekend, according to The Korea Herald.

"I lost interest in music and even thought of giving up making songs," he added.

The "Gangnam Style" music video is the most watched video on YouTube with more than 2.4 billion views, and its viral popularity catapulted Psy to international stardom.

But Psy said he managed to leap over the obstacles of creating a follow-up to "Gangnam Style."

The revelation came as Psy pushes out two new singles, "Daddy" and "Napal Baji (Bell-Bottoms)."

YG Entertainment label mate and 2NE1 leader CL is featured in "Daddy" and appears as well in the music video, along with other Korean celebrities.

"Daddy" is a dance track with techno funk elements with a similar vibe to Psy's previous releases, "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman."

Meanwhile, "Napal Baji" turns up the retro sound and sees Psy wearing the titular piece of clothing, bell-bottoms, throughout the video.
