BTS has increased the audience capacity for its upcoming "BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG" concert at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul, making thousands more seats and standing spots available to fans after initial tickets quickly ran out.

The group's agency, BigHit Music, announced on Tuesday that the March 21 comeback show will now host about 22,000 on-site attendees, up from the previously planned 15,000.

The increase follows intense demand for the free event, which marks BTS's first full-group performance since all members completed their military service and coincides with the release of their fifth studio album "Arirang" on March 20.

According to the agency, new standing zones will be added along Sejong-daero, stretching from the Gwanghwamun intersection toward City Hall Station, according to allkpop.

Fans in these expanded areas will watch the show through large LED screens installed across the street, allowing more people to experience the performance while keeping the main square's density under control.

Additional tickets for the new standing sections will open through the NOL Ticket platform starting Mar. 12 at 8 p.m. KST, with a limit of one ticket per person. Organizers said ticketing will remain free and stressed that existing reservations will not be affected, meaning fans who already secured seats do not need to rebook.

BigHit Music emphasized that the capacity expansion was designed with safety and crowd management as the top priority, amid projections that more than 200,000 people could flood the wider Gwanghwamun area, including non-ticketed spectators.

Police and city officials plan to manage the zone like a temporary stadium, controlling entry and exit through designated pathways and monitoring real-time crowd levels, the Korea JoongAng Daily reported.

Organizers also pledged to crack down on scalping and illegal resales, saying they will strengthen identity checks at entry points and monitor secondary markets to block unauthorized transfers.

Access to designated viewing areas will be restricted to those with valid advance tickets, although the concert will be broadcast live worldwide via Netflix for fans who cannot attend in person.

With the stage set against the historic backdrop of Gwanghwamun Square, the ARIRANG comeback concert is expected to be a major cultural moment for both BTS and the city of Seoul, blending a large-scale K-pop performance with strict safety planning to handle unprecedented fan interest, as per the Korea Herald.
