Psy To Begin Working On Follow Up To 'Gentleman' As Soon As He Returns From Promotional Tour: Eyes Possible Summer Release

Call him the hardest working "Gentleman" in show business.

Psy vowed to return to return to the recording studio immediately after returning from his current promotional tour, in an online interview Sunday with the American website 'Saturday Night Online Live with Romeo.

"After 'Gentleman' promotions, I'm planning on making a new album," Psy said.

According to Psy, the king of K-pop's new album will be his first ever to be distributed in the U.S.

"It will be the seventh album in Korea, and my debut album in America," Psy said. "I'm hoping for a summer season release."

Hot on the heels of Psy's record-breaking follow-up to "Gangnam Style," Psy says he will be working with a variety of musicians for his first official U.S. release.

"A great number of musicians will be participating in the album, and when I think of someone after listening to the tracks, I will be working with them," Psy said.

Psy selected "It's Art" from his fifth album as his favorite song from his own catalog.

"Even though it is not a Psy-like song, the emotional lyrics, melodies, and strong beats make a great match," he said.

In his brief tenure as an international pop star, Psy has already made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, twice.

"Gentleman" holds the record for the most YouTube views in a 24-hour period, after being viewed 38 million times on April 14, the day after it was released, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

And the song the catapulted him to international superstardom, "Gangnam Style," is the most viewed online video in history with over 1.5 billion YouTube views.

On Friday, Psy opened up about being a little embarrassed about his over-the-top persona in "Gentleman."

"This is the first time I've gotten to say my reaction to my video, and, wow, he's an a-hole," Psy said about his character in the "Gentleman" video. "And he thinks he's sexy...it's so stupid."

As the "Gentleman" clip played, Psy offered anecdotes, background and his general feelings about once again shooting a video in Seoul's Gangnam District (the location was also used in "Gangnam Style").

"And now, we're dancing at the library, [so it's] stupid in a row," he said with a laugh. "I love that!"
