Hundreds Turn Up To Watch 28-Year-Old Super Junior Singer Yesung Enlist In South Korean Army: Singer Will Spend A Month In Basic Training

Hundreds of fans gathered in front of a South Korean army recruitment center on Monday to watch Super Junior's Yesung enlist.

The 28-year-old K-pop singer, whose real name is Kim Jong-woon, reportedly stayed in his car on his way to the enlistment center, despite the crowds of well-wishers.

Yet, Yesung still thanked Super Junior fans for showing up.

"Thank you for coming so far," Yesung tweeted following his enlistment. "I told you not to come. Everyone, be healthy. See you again."

Yesung, who joined Super Junior in 2005, will be undergoing four weeks of basic training at the Jeonbuk Jeonju 35th Training Center, according to the Korea Star Daily.

The Super Junior singer will then serve 23 months in a public service position.

Yesung was nostalgic in a May 5 tweet to his fans.

"I will miss it all," he wrote. "Stages, songs...I look forward the day we meet again, ELF. No worries, love you all!"

In addition to being a member of Super Junior for eight years, Yesung also formed a sub-unit called Super Junior K.R.Y with fellow Super Junior members Kyuhyun and Ryeowook.

Last week, a representative from Super Junior's record label SM Entertainment explained why Yesung's Super Junior bandmates would not be accompanying him to the enlistment center.

"His military training area is far away, and he wants to enlist quietly," the rep said. "The Super Junior members will not be accompanying him at this time."

Super Junior's Ryeowook was coping with a considerably less dramatic predicament on Saturday morning--what to eat for breakfast.

"A common breakfast meal among idols kekekeke Good morning," Donghae Ryeowook tweeted, along with a photo of the traditional Korean breakfast of rice, soybean paste stew along with his other favorite dishes.

"Donghae hyung and even Kangin hyung are all awake," he wrote. "I will eat well."

For any non-Korean-speaking readers, hyung is the Korean word for older brother when used by males. For female Korean speakers Oppa (such as Psy Oppa or Cho Yong Pil the original Oppa) is used.

Ryeowook also expressed confusion on the amount of white eggs in his refrigerator.

"When it turns 8 o'clock, I wake up," he wrote. "Because I'm hungry, I went to the kitchen half-asleep. I was shocked. Ahk! What is this kekekekekeke white eggs? Seeing how really shocked I was I laughed out loud by myself. It's interesting."

ELF was supportive of his Super Junior bandmate's attention to culinary detail.

"Ryeowook eats well," he wrote. "Do you prepare meals for your hyungs too? It looks delicious! Eat together."
