Psy attended the annual Met Gala on May 6 in New York City.

The Costume Institute Gala, known as the Met Gala has been described in the fashion industry as the "Night of Nights." The event is hosted by Vogue and celebrates the Metropolitan Museum's opening of its yearly fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute.

And this year Psy was counted among the high-profile guest list.

The Met Gala has long been considered the best red carpet event of the year and is attended by the biggest names in fashion, with designers and celebrity fashion icons mingling side-by-side.

Each year the ball centers around a fashion theme. This year guests arrived in their best punk rock attire for 'Punk: Chaos to Couture.'

At the 2013 Met Gala, Psy wore a red and black checked tuxedo jacket over a white shirt and black pants complete with his trademark bow tie and sunglasses.

Since the release of "Gangnam Style" Psy has been considered around the world as a sort of unconventional fashion icon for his unusual brightly colored tuxedos. So it was no surprise when he was invited to strut his stuff on the red carpet.

The Korean mega-star also updated his Twitter live from the Met Gala and included pictures of him with several A-list celebs including Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin.   We just hope Psy behaved like a perfect gentleman during the high-profile event.
