Hyeri and Kang Haneul will be the stars of an upcoming drama..

According to a statement made by a broadcast insider on July 25 to Korean media outlet Daily Sports, "Kang Haneul and Hyeri have been cast as the leads in the upcoming MBC drama 'Picnic.'"

However, according to Hyeri's agency Dream T Entertainment, the decision is not final. "We have been in talks about casting Hyeri, but the final decision has not been reached just yet," they said.

After changing the title of the drama from "Gaia" to "Picnic," the drama was scheduled to premiere in September. However, the show has been pushed back to 2017.

The drama is a fantasy romantic comedy about the events that transpire between the two most popular A-list celebrities in Korea and China after their plane makes an unexpected emergency landing in a place devoid of civilization, where fantasy-like and impossible things happen often. The two fall in love in a way that mirrors the growth and love of people in their youth.

The drama will air in the first half of 2017 and is being produced by SM Culture & Contents, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment that has created numerous shows, including "To the Beautiful You," "Miss Korea," Cool Kiz on the Block," and more.
