Lyn Claims Her Relationship With Lee Soo Improved After They Confessed To The Press: 'I Learned A Lot' Singer Says

K-pop solo artist Lyn faced a serious fan backlash last month when she announced she was dating MC The MAX lead singer Lee Soo, involved in an underage prostitution scandal in 2009.

But in Friday's episode of the Korean Broadcasting program "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook," Lyn said coming clean to the press actually helped her relationship with Lee Soo.

"Because of this, I got even closer with my boyfriend," Lyn told host Yoo Hee Yeol. "I'm practicing how to look at myself from the perspective of others."

"Thank you for coming out, even though it might have been difficult," Yoo Hee Yeol said.

"Not at all," Lyn replied. "There are people who can't stand on stage even if they want to. I learned a lot from [Lee Soo] that I should be thankful on stage."

Back in 2009, Lee Soo was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old prostitute in his Jong Roh Gu apartment, according to the website allkpop.

On April 26, Lyn's record label Good Entertainment released a statement announcing that she was dating her longtime friend, Lee Soo.

"Lyn and MC the Max's Lee Soo were good friends for over 10 years," the statement read. "They started dating after they started to talk about their music. Please show a lot of warm interest and support for Lyn and Lee Soo, who have grown from long-time friends and colleagues to something even closer now."

Three days later, Lyn vented her frustrations on Twitter, posting a letter to her fans about the hurtful comments she had received from fans about her choice of boyfriend.

"Since I have a job where I'm in front of the public, it's correct that I should be careful about everything," Lyn wrote.

"But since love is an emotion that doesn't bend easily to logic, I followed my heart instead of my brain. The prickly words are, I feel, nothing but good thoughts looking out for my friend and me. I think of the painful comments as nothing more than words said by my friends or my parents."

Lyn concluded the letter, which she said contained her "inner thoughts," with a plea to fans to forgive her and Lee Soo

"There are many things that my friend and I have done wrong," she said.

"We will reflect deeply and live our lives trying to make it right. We promise. I realize that forgiveness and blessing is a big thing to ask. Just watch over us. I apologize and thanks again."

Last week, Lee Soo expressed his frustrations at Lyn having to answer for his past indiscretions.

"I am making another's life a lot more difficult, even though I am the one at fault," he said in an interview for South Korean television. "I will be good to her. I will work hard to make good music. That is all I hope for."
