Here's What Former 2NE1 Minzy Has Been up To; Fans Clamoring for 2NE1 Comeback

Minzy's departure from 2NE1 left a gaping hole in countless of fans' hearts. However, though the maknae decided to leave her unnies, the singer-dancer promises to come back with a better version of her.

It was surely a sad time for the world of k-pop when Minzy decided not to renew her contract with YG Entertainment back in April 2016 after 2NE1's contract expired. But since the world doesn't stop for anyone, not even famous k-pop idols, people would just have to cope and move on which is quite difficult to do since it is definitely hard seeing 2NE1 without the super talented maknae and her explosive dance moves. However, since her departure from the highly celebrated girl group, one can't help but wonder what Minzy has been up to these days.

The 22-year old left her group in order to pursue her solo career and in the last few months, she's doing just that.

According to Koreaboo, Minzy has been working extra hard on her solo endeavors. In fact, she gave not-so-subtle hints about a possible comeback as a solo artist and on her Instagram account the young singer gave fans a glimpse into her progress.

Not only that, Minzy is also working on a documentary film called Obedience which is about Dingidi Village, a small Ugandan village whose residents have just started recovering after being victimized in the Ugandan civil war. The film stars Kim Eun-Hye ("Princess Hours") as a missionary that cares for the children whose parents are victims of a massacre.

Minzy is also involved in the promotion of the film and is in the VIP premiere of "Obedience".

In other news, iTech Post reports that 2NE1 fans have been clamoring for Park Bom to return so that the girl group could finally make a comeback. After the departure of Minzy and Park Bom's drug scandal, 2NE1 has been on an indefinite hiatus and their remaining members have been focusing on individual projects.

It seems that fans couldn't wait anymore for their favorite girl group and are all dying for a comeback. However, chances of a comeback happening have gone slim. Dara has been focusing a lot on her acting career, not to mention, she is also in the Philippines to work as a judge for ABS-CBN's "Pinoy Boyband Superstar".

Meanwhile, 2NE1's leader, CL, is currently engaged in all sorts of activities in the US. She had just gone on a North American tour and is working really hard to break into the US mainstream music. If CL were to ever succeed breaking into America, then 2NE1's future is definitely in peril. But there is also that option to replace the members but it is highly unlikely that fans would be on board with this idea.

To give Blackjacks a little hope, Park Bom had finally made a comeback on Instagram and it seems she's taking baby steps as she returns to the scene. So don't feel grim just yet.
