Two best friends, two award winning actors. Song Joong-Ki and Park Bo-Gum are the actors who support each other, more than just an agency mate, but also close friend. This can be seen in the KBS Drama Awards last Saturday.

Song won the Grand Prize Award together with his co-star from “Descendants of the Sun” Song Hye-Kyo in the ceremony held on Dec. 31 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul as reported by Korea Herald. WhilePark won the Top Excellence Awards for his role as crown prince Lee-Yeong in the period drama “Love in the Moonlight.”

During his acceptance speech, Park deliver a heartfelt and emotional speech. He thanked people who supported him and as he cried when giving his speech, Song was also caught on camera to has a tear in his eyes as he applauded his agency mate. While his co-star Song Hye-Kyo was seen to laughing to see him cried.

Park and Song is known to be best friend, as Song considers Park as his younger brother. They both are from the same agency Blossom Entertainment and this year they both won the awards.

This year’s KBS Drama Award has been a recognition of success for Song-Song couple and “Descendants of the Sun.” According to official release from the KBS, all aspects of the drama was working together to create the successful drama. Its original soundtrack which was sung by Gummy “You Are My Everything” has captivated the audience and gave a supporting tone to the drama.

As he received the award, Song was unable to hold his tears. As the “Descendants of the Sun” was his first project after being discharged from the military service. He said he received the offer during his last days in the army. So, he didn’t expect to receive such an honor to win the highest award.

“I thank the people who have trusted me with the role. I was very happy during the time we filmed this,” he said.
