BTS, Twice Heats Up Competition On YouTube; BTS 'Not Today' Regains 24- Hour Record From 'Knock Knock'

It's been a very eventful week for Kpop idols BTS and Twice as their fans continue to break the internet by supporting two new MVs that were releasedover the weekend. After Twice's "Knock Knock" effectively toppled BTS's record for most views in 24 hours, the boys hit back a few hours later and reclaimed the record for their edgy dance MV "Not Today".

The competition has been fierce between the fans of these two Kpop idol groups. It can be recalled that last week, BTS's "Spring Day MV wrestled Twice's record for the fastest time to reach 10 and 20 million views for their video "TT". BTS posted over 20 million views in just over three days while it took the girls four days and a few hours to reach the number, reported Soompi. It also broke Twice's record for reaching 30 million views as "Spring Day" achieved the feat in 8 days and 13 minutes. The former record for 30 million views was reached by "TT" at 8 days and 23 hours.

Now, Twice is back with their comeback single "Knock Knock" which broke the record for most views in 24 hours. The catchy slumber party themed song by Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu overtook the record set by "Spring Day" but the BTS' loyal legion of fans known as A.R.M.Y will not be outdone.

With just a few hours of Twice holding the record for most number of views in 24 hours, fans took the opportunity to show their support for BTS' latest MV "Not Today" as the latest single regained the record from Twice. The two MVs now have a margin of 2 million views that separate them as "Knock "Knock" holds strong at 17 million views while "Not Today" is steadily heading towards the 20 million mark with close to 19.5 million views.

The battle for the most number of views has been fierce for Kpop groups which is mainly fueled by strong support from their fandoms. BTS and Twice have been smashing records one after another and are selling out tickets to their performances locally and abroad, reported Inquisitr.

The same report also indicated that these viewing records set by Kpop idols on youtube also translates to earnings for the groups as they are paid $1 per 25 views. At 20 million views, the views are already monetized by as much as $800,000 but it seems that fans will not stop supporting their idols anytime soon.
