BTS Bounces Back With M! Countdown Win After Gaon Chart 'Plagiarism' Controversy

This week's episode of music show M! Countdown was an eventful one as BTS won their second trophy on a music show for their performances of their new hits "Spring Day" and "Not Today". The buys went up against Red Velvet.

According to a report by Soompi, BTS performed the two songs for the first time on a music show which made it even more of a treat for the show's fans. The performance garnered a score of 10,629 against 6,814 by Red Velvet to earn the victory.

Upon receiving the award, Jin took the opportunity to thank the BTS legion of fans called A.R.M.Y. for helping them win as soon as they made their comeback. V and Jungkook, for their part, thanked their management Big Hit Entertainment and their families and promised that they will continue to work hard to deserve the opportunities being given to them.

BTS recently came under fire for their performance at the 6th Gaon Chart K-pop Awards when fans of BIG BANG criticized them for using the no signal color bar at the beginning of their performance which is closely identified with a solo performance of BIG BANG's T.O.P. Big Hit Entertainment has already clarified that they were not responsible for the stage setting.

For their part, Gaon Chart executives have acknowledged the fault for triggering the conflict between fans of BTS and BIG BANG and the admitted that the production team had a lapse in monitoring the video footage to be used in the BTS production. The statement further said that production failed to show the BTS the camp the video footage that will be used prior to the performance, reported All Kpop.

The episode of M" Countdown also featured a performance from TWICE of their latest single "Knock Knock". The girls have recently opened their official Instagram account to announce their Japan debut which is happening soon.
