BIGBANG leader G-Dragon is proving yet again that he is a sales powerhouse as pre-orders of his solo album "Kwon Ji Yong" reached double platinum status on Chinese music site QQ Music before the album's official release today. Within a day of opening the site for pre-orders on June 5, G-Dragon's fans have already sold over 200,000 units.

According to a report by Korea Portal, G-Dragon's "Kwon Ji Yong" originally sold over 80,000 units in the first three hours, guaranteeing a Triple Gold Record for the album. But fans couldn't get over their excitement for G-Dragon's new material that they pushed the sales up to 100,000 units by midday. This meant that as if June 5, "Kwon Ji Yong" was already Platinum status.

VIPs, BIGBANG's official fandom, and G-Dragon's fans seemed intent on showing their support for G-Dragon's comeback which comes four years after his "One of a Kind" album in 2013. "Kwon Ji Yong" breached 200,000 pre-orders, propelling the album to double platinum status.

G-Dragon made his much-awaited solo comeback on June 8 by dropping the MVs of his title track "Bullsh!t" and "Dam*It" as well as his album "Kwon Ji Yong" ahead of his 19-city "Act III: MOTTE" world tour which will kick off on June 10 at the sold out Seoul World Cup Stadium, Kpopstarz reported .

It can be recalled that G-Dragon managed to sell out the 65,000 seater stadium in the short span of 8 minutes after tickets were made available. The BIG BANG leader's magic was also showcased when he was launched as the brand ambassador of Nike's Air Vapormax Line for World Airmax Day and sold out the show line in Korea in under a minute.

Prior to launching his solo album, G-Dragon worked with PSY on the track "Fact Assault" for the "Gangnam Style" singer's "4 x 2 = 8" album. G-Dragon was also the surprise featured artist for the IU's comeback album "Palette" for her title track of the same name.
