Celebrities Are Denied This Privilege After T.O.P's Marijuana Scandal

Ever since Big Bang's T.O.P's scandal involving drugs and marijuana, as well as his issues regarding his enlistment in the army, fans and idols have both expressed their concerns. Unfortunately, his actions did not come with out repercussions.

Because of T.O.P's misconduct during his two-year mandatory military service, idols and Korean celebrities are no longer allowed to enlist as conscripted policemen. However, this isn't all T.O.P's doing. The position within the army was already in motion to be removed and abolished from the military a few years ago.

Yonhap News reported on July 24th that the conscripted policeman system will be completely abolished in the year 2023. While the system will be put to an end step by step over the next few years, the military decided that the celebrity conscripted policeman will be the first to be abolished. The police will no longer be choosing a celebrity as conscripted policeman as of 2018. It isn't to say that it is entirely T.O.P's fault, however, his actions did further their decision making.

According to other news and media outlets, JYJ's JunsuTVXQ's ChangminSuper Junior's Siwon, are currently serving as celebrity conscripted policeman. They are expected to be the last celebrities to serve as conscripted policeman for the mandatory military service until 2018.

In other news, T.O.P received a sentence of two years probation with 10 months in prison if he breaks his probation. He also had to pay a measly $12 fine. What do you think of T.O.P's influence on these decisions?
