Former SNSD's Jessica Reportedly Dealing with Lawsuit Against Chinese Agencies

Based on reports on August 21, the artist is facing a legal case that involves approximately 2 billion KRW or 1.7 million US dollars in contract fees with her Chinese agencies. Apparently back in 2016, Jessica's management company, Coridel Capital Management, had a contract signing with two Chinese management agencies with regards to the singer's promotions in China. That being the case, the two Chinese companies were given exclusive authorities in managing Jessica's activities in China until February this year, 2019.

Nevertheless, the two Chinese agencies presented a formal request to the Beijing court, stating that Jessica and her agency failed to appropriately act in accordance with the content as written on the contract. Also, the submitted request is demanding the Coridel Capital Management to pay fees, which includes contract fees, unpaid earnings, restitution fees, and many more, which totals to 2 billion KRW.

And according to reports so far, the Beijing court was one the side of the two Chinese companies during the first and second legal trials. At this point, Jessica's management agency has decided to transfer this ongoing lawsuit to South Korean court; however, reports further stated that the Korean court agreed with the Beijing court and ruled in favor of the Chinese agencies. Though the two courts have already decided on which side to favor, Jessica's party intends to make another appeal.
