Yoo Sae Yoon Turns Himself Into Police For DUI: UV Rapper Drives 18 Miles With Blood Alcohol Level At Twice The Legal Limit

"Saturday Night Live Korea" cast member and half of the joke band UV, Yoo Sae Yoon turned himself into police on Wednesday morning, confessing to driving while intoxicated (a DUI).

Yoo appeared at the Kyeongki-do Goyangkyung police station at 4 a.m., where he admitted having driven from Seoul to Ilsan early that morning, a journey of over 18 miles, according to the website Soompi.

Illsan Police say the comedian's blood alcohol content was at .118 percent, more than twice the country's legal limit of .49 percent.

"I came because I felt guilty," Yoo told police after turning himself in, according to South Korean publication eNews.

Though Illsan authorities claim they have yet to uncover any evidence that the "SNL Korea" star was involved in an accident during his drunken joy ride, they still revoked the star's license because his blood alcohol level was so high.

"Yoo Se Yoon was booked without detention for violating traffic laws," said an Ilsan Police spokesperson.

"His license will be revoked according to the law."

In South Korea, it is legal to drive with up to a .049 blood alcohol level. A percentage of .05 to .09 results in the driver's license being suspended.

In cases where the motorist's blood alcohol is .10 or above, as in Yoo's case, their license is permanently revoked.

"Let's not be fake," Yoo wrote on his Twitter account after returning home from his DUI confession.

According to Ilsan Police, a driver turning himself in for drunk driving is practically unheard of.

"Yoo Se Yoon said he came because he felt guilty," the police spokesperson said.

"This is the first time someone has turned himself in to the police station [for a DUI] when he didn′t even get caught. We questioned him and sent him home."

Yoo Sae Yoon's manager allegedly claims he had sent the TV personality home early Wednesday morning in a vehicle being operated by a designated driver, yet the accuracy of his statement is reportedly still being confirmed.

According to executives from the South Korean network Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), the comedian's appearances on this week's episodes of "Radio Star" and "Knee Drop Guru," which have already been filmed and edited, will air as planned.

The MBC representative added that they would be engaging discussions with Yoo and his manager regarding whether the star should be kicked off of the network.

UV's single "Because of You" featuring Sung Hoon of Brown Eyed Soul is currently number 48 on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.
