Gugudan’s Leader Hana Shares Heartfelt Letter Following Group’s Disbandment
Following Jellyfish Entertainment's announcement that Gugudan will be disbanding today, Dec. 31, leader Hana released a heartfelt letter to the group's fanbase.
On Thursday, Dec. 31, leader Hana released a lengthy letter thanking Gugudan's fanbase, Dear Friends. In her letter, Hana revealed that they, Gugudan, were both sad and sorry about delivering them such sudden news. She recalls when she first debuted in 2016 and tells fans that the days she spent with Gugudan are the most precious moments of her life.

She writes that after the news of their disbandment broke out, people showed them overwhelming support for the work they have done. The idol tells fans that she was able to aim higher because of the love from their fans, which is why she finds it so difficult to say goodbye, especially as she wants to give the fans support during these hard times.
Hana reveals that whenever she received messages from fans telling her that she is so strong and that they are happy to be her fan, it gives her more strength. At the end of her letter, she shares how grateful she is to the members of Gugudan and their fans, and asks them to stay healthy during these times. She tells the fans that she loves them dearly and that she will repay the love they have given her.
Her whole letter reads:
"Dear Friends,
This is Gugudan's Hana. We have delivered some sudden news at the end of this year. We were all really sad and sorry for doing this. Do you remember the warm summer of 2016? To this day, I cannot forget that day, when we performed our first stage and met all of you. I think it will remain in my memory for the rest of my life. The days of being Gugudan's Hana and performing with our members are truly the most precious moments in my life.
After the news broke out, many people showered us with overwhelming support and praise for all the hard work we had done. Although I was unable to smile every day, I was able to aim higher because of all of your support. This is why it is so hard for me to express in words how to say goodbye. I wanted to instill strength in everyone during these uncertain times, but I was unable to and for that I am sorry.
Whenever I received messages from fans about how I was so strong and resilient and that they were so happy to be my fan, it gave me more strength. Though I am still lacking, I want you all to know that you gave me strength and motivated me to become an even better person.
Today, all f the memories of the past were clearly felt by each and every one of us. I am extremely grateful that whenever I think of my beloved members and fans, I can smile instead of sigh. It is disappointing that we could not meet in person due to the coronavirus pandemic, but please take care of your health and I hope to meet everyone again soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting and loving Gugudan as if we were your best friends. I love and miss everyone more than you know. I will do my best to repay everyone the love they have given me. I love you.
