"The Sun's Song" (also known as "Midnight Sun") is a romance musical that tells the story of Hae Na and Ha Ram who meet each other and sing the brightest song of the sun together. This musical started as a film in Hong Kong that premiered in 1993. The movie was then remade into a Japanese film, drama, and novel.

The story continuously received support from all over the world, and so it was later produced into a Hollywood movie titled "Midnight Sun." Moreover, the musical was first performed in Korea back in 2010 at Sejong Center, and it will now be improved through a joined effort with excellent staff members.

On Tuesday, March 9, the first casting lineup for the romance musical "The Sun's Song" has been revealed via SHINSWAVE Twitter, and among the cast members are four K-pop idols, namely Lovelyz Kei, GOT7 Youngjae, DAY6 Wonpil, and SHINee Onew. These K-pop artists have been chosen to play the main roles in the musical.

What are the Roles of SHINee Onew, GOT7 Youngjae, DAY6 Wonpil, & Lovelyz Kei in the Musical?

In particular, Onew, Youngjae, and Wonpil, as well as the musical actor Jo Hoon, will be playing Ha Ram, a boy who is described to be as dazzling as the midday sun. Each of these actors will portray the refreshing energy of the happiest moment in youth with their individual charms.

Meanwhile, Lovelyz Kei, together with Lee Ah Jin and Kang Hye In, will be taking on the role of Hae Na, the girl who radiates like the starlight. These actresses will showcase their powerful voices as they represent the character's fresh personality. Kim Joo Ho and Jung Ui Wook will be playing Hae Na's father Seo Joon Woo.

SHINSWAVE Drops Teaser Poster and More Details for Musical "The Sun's Song"

Apart from the first casting lineup of the romance musical, SHINSWAVE, the global content production company, also revealed the teaser poster. The image presents a bright sky with the setting sun shining behind a surfing board and guitar that are placed on the beach. These objects are said to symbolize the main characters, Hae Na and Ha Ram.

Alongside the teaser poster is the date and time, as well as the venue, of the musical "The Sun's Song." It will be performed starting on May 1 until July 25 at the Kwanglim Arts Center. Tickets will be available for purchase starting March 12.

Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, SHINSWAVE, which develops and produces musicals in Korea and exports them overseas, will broadcast all original musical performances this year live online. They also plan to expand the platform so that viewers can watch the performances anytime and anywhere.
