MAMAMOO Achieves Successful Comeback as 'WAW' Ranks No. 1 on iTunes Charts and All Songs Enter Domestic Music Charts

MAMAMOO is back with a new mini-album, "WAW," which has swept iTunes charts around the world. Additionally, all the songs from the album landed on domestic music charts, proving their popularity in South Korea and overseas.

MAMAMOO's 'WAW' Takes No. 1 Spot on iTunes Charts all over the World

On June 2, MAMAMOO dropped their eleventh mini-album, "WAW," alongside the music video for "Where Are We Now," the album's title track.

As the title implies, MAMAMOO's new song asks the question "Where are we now?" while we stand in an unfamiliar location without coordinates. It expresses gratitude toward fans and listeners, with whom they have shared precious moments and spent many happy and sad situations.

Meanwhile, MAMAMOO's "WAW" reflects on the past seven years of the group's music career, when they always worked hard to reach where they are today. This is the quartet's first time to release an album containing songs that are all ballad, which demonstrate their potential as a vocal group.

As of 11 a.m. KST on June 3, the "WAW" album topped the iTunes charts in a total of 21 countries across the globe. Particularly, it ranked first on iTunes Top Album charts in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Malaysia, Turkey, the Philippines, and more.

MAMAMOO's "WAW" even rose to No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Top Album chart, becoming the quartet's third consecutive album to do so, following "Reality in Black" and "Travel."

MAMAMOO now joins BLACKPINK, Red Velvet, and LOONA as the only girl group to debut at No. 1 on the worldwide iTunes Top Album chart three times.

In addition, MAMAMOO's "WAW" currently sits at No. 1 on the iTunes Top 100 K-pop Albums chart for June 3. The album also claimed the No. 4 spot on the iTunes Top 100 Albums chart.

All songs from the "WAW" album also managed to land on the worldwide iTunes Top Song chart. "Where Are We Now" entered at No. 10, "Another Day" at No. 44, "Destiny Part.2" at No. 49, and "A Memory of Life" at No. 50.

Apart from their global success, MAMAMOO also received support from their home country. The title track "Where Are We Now," as well as the B-side tracks "A Memory for Life," "Destiny Part. 2," and "Another Day," debuted on several domestic music charts as soon as they were released.

MAMAMOO's "Where Are We Now" debuted at No. 4 on Bugs and No. 6 on Genie. While "Another Day" entered at No. 8 on Bugs and No. 17 on Genie, "A Memory for Life" landed at No. 12 on Bugs and No. 19 on Genie. Meanwhile, "Destiny Part. 2" debuted at No. 13 on Bugs and No. 20 on Genie.

Moreover, "Where Are We Now" by MAMAMOO entered the Top 50 of the MelOn 24Hits chart. As of 5 p.m. KST on June 3, the song sits at No. 20 on Bugs, No. 31 on Genie, No. 47 on MelOn (a new peak), and No. 92 on FLO.

MAMAMOO is set to make their first comeback stage with "Where Are We Now" today, June 3 on Mnet's "M Countdown."
