TWICE Mina Reveals Why She Quit Ballet, And the Reason is Not What You Think It Is
TWICE Mina, who used to be a ballet dancer prior to her debut as an idol, revealed the reason she decided to leave her ballet career. While most fans think it is because she became a K-pop idol trainee, her reason is completely different.
On YouTube's 1theK original channel on November 15, TWICE Mina revealed why she quit ballet.
On Monday, a new video of TWICE was uploaded through 1theK's "IDDP" wherein the members looked into various Korean portal sites and confirm if the information related to them in the platforms were true or not.
In the video, Mina then revealed the reason she quit ballet after spending almost half of her life on it.
Why Did Mina Quit Ballet? Here's the Real Reason
In the show, Mina read the phrase "I (Mina) learned ballet for a long time before she became a trainee," which was written in her profile.
Before Mina debuted as one of TWICE members, the idol learned and practice ballet for 11 years. She, later on, quit the dance before she trained to become a K-pop idol, and fans assume it's the story why she discontinue her practice as a ballet dancer.

But Mina revealed the truth, surprising viewers.
"In fact, I didn't quit because I became a trainee, but it is just I wanted to learn (other) dance. I quit ballet while fighting with my parents," the female star confessed.
"I learned it for a long time, so they (Mina's parents) said it was a waste (to quit), so I replied, 'Should I do ballet until I die?'," Mina continued, narrating how her parents initially disagreed to her decision to quit ballet.

In the same broadcast, Mina who hilariously recalled the reason admitted it could be one of her "Sa Chun Gi," or rebellious teenager phase.
Nevertheless, Mina didn't show any hint of regret and expressed that it was actually her fate to quit ballet so she could become a trainee, and later on debut as a TWICE member.

As a response, fans conveyed their reaction to Mina's reason.
"So this is why Mina quit ballet," "Thanks to it, Mina became TWICE," and "Mina in her adolescence is really spicy," some commented.
