Footage of NCT Mark and Haechan Dancing 'Firetruck' While Sirens Go Off Surfaces

On December 14, NCT members Mark, Doyoung and Johnny were caught under fire after dancing and singing to their song "Earthquake" during a live stream after hearing an alert for a 4.9 magnitude earthquake. At the time, the three members were quickly told to stop by their members.

Following the backlash, the members took to their personal Instagram accounts to release an apology via Stories.

Following the controversy, a video from 20128 featuring Mark and Haechan has resurfaced. At the time, NCT was filming several vlogs and live streams in Spain.

As they were filming and walking around the streets of Spain, a fire truck siren could be heard in the background. This causes Mark and Haechan to start dancing NCT 127's debut song, "Firetruck."

After the video resurfaced, viewers expressed their shock over Mark and Haechan's actions. Others also expressed how shocked that the fandom, NCTzens, never noticed how inappropriate the actions of the two members were.

One internet user commented on the situation, saying, "The sound of a siren means something urgent has happened. How can they do such things when they hear a siren? On top of that, seeing them dance and sing as the earthquake alarm went off made me realize they were living in a completely different world from mine. Anyone with enough situational awareness and ability to judge the situation would never act like that."

The video has spurred mixed opinions from NCTzens and South Korean internet users. While supporters of the group attempt to defend the members by saying they did not know the siren meant they were announcing an emergency, internet users assert that anyone who can judge a situation would know what a siren means.

Some more comments concerning the video of NCT and Haechan read, "Why is Haechan always present in every controversy?" "I feel like these two members were just acting unconsciously," "Fans of Mark always trying to find a way to blame other members, but he is always the one who acts without thinking, "Isn't it a bit forced to criticize them for this?" and "If they hear a siren go off, they can either stand still or ignore it. But why did they have to dance to it? Since they made fun of the situation, they deserve the criticism."
