Here's Why People Think ITZY Yeji Dated SF9 Youngbin
In May 2021, a set of fan-taken photos started circulating on social media and on South Korean online community forums. A man and a woman are seen at an airport in the image. In other photos, they are seen holding hands as they walk around. The photo was also edited to include a "Breaking news" sticker.
Many people believed that the girl in the photo was ITZY member Yeji. Though the girl was wearing a mask, her hair was the same shade of red Yeji's was at the time. People also determined that the man in the photo was Youngbin. Despite wearing a mask, people stated that the eyes were a dead giveaway.
The photos immediately caused confusion online, especially since the rumors started spiraling while ITZY was promoting "Mafia in the Morning." Many were unsure if the girl in the photo was Yeji, while some were convinced it was Chaeryeong, as she had also dyed her hair red for the comeback.

While some believed it was Yeji due to the girl's stature, more people did not think Yeji would do such a thing. People commented that the two people in the photo could be anybody and that it was not confirmed if it was Youngbin in the first place. Additionally, people stated that Yeji and other K-pop idols are smart enough not to go around with their hair color out in the open close to their comeback date.
One user commented, "Unless Yeji suddenly went crazy, there is no way she would roam around in public with her hair out in the open like that, without even a hat on, arm in arm with a man." Meanwhile, another user stated, "Just because someone has red hair does not mean they are a K-pop idol."

People started speculating that the girl Youngbin was with was actually his older sister. The two siblings are known to be very close and often enjoy outings together, which has caused people to believe that Yongbin and Yeji are not dating.
Neither FNC Entertainment (Youngbin's label) nor JYP Entertainment (Yeji's label) released a statement on the matter.
ITZY Yeji Relationship Status 2021 + Ideal Type
Yeji is not confirmed to be dating anyone as of the time of writing. So with that, it is safe to assume that the ITZY member is single.
However, she has spoken about her ideal type before. Yeji would want to date someone who is intellect-oriented and is very witty. She wants someone curious and knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics. She also wants to end up with someone who is confident, who can give her space, but also love her unconditionally.
