aespa Receives Good Feedback from NME Music Magazine

Last December 28, NME published an article mentioning aespa's "Unrealistic 2021" through their official website.

NME wrote, "aespa created a K-pop sensation with two singles and a hit mini-album this year. Moreover, SM's rookie girl group follows the footsteps of strong K-pop female groups, such as S.E.S, BoA, Girls' Generation, Red Velvet, and f(x). It is a pressure for the girl group to follow in the footsteps of their seniors. However, for a little over a year, they have brought a storm to the industry with hits, achievements, and awards."

"From winning Record Of The Year at the Melon Music Awards with their hit single 'Next Level' to being the global ambassadors for French luxury fashion house Givenchy, the girl group - comprising Karina, Winter, Giselle, and NingNing - have landed, made their mark and are not backing down anytime soon. aespa have just barely entered their second year as a fully-fledged K-pop girl and they already have set the bar high for themselves, but it's one that they certainly aren't afraid of." aespa Members Recall Their 'Unrealistic' Year

2021 has been aespa's year. They released two hit songs "Next Level" and "Savage," and they appeared on several music awards shows and song festivals.

In their NME interview, the girls revealed they never imagined they would receive the "Rookie of the Year" award and a Daesang at the same time. They added it was an honor to be nominated together with other great artists, and the nomination served as their inspiration.

With their hit song, "Savage," aespa said that the record means the beginning of their story, and it gave them the confidence to move forward and create more songs.

When asked about performing for the first time since the pandemic, aespa said that everything felt unreal. It was the moment that they had been dreaming about, that is why they were more nervous than usual but also excited to give their very best performance.

Although the fans could not cheer loudly because of COVID-19 safety regulations, their presence alone gave the girls so much energy on stage and they enjoyed it to the fullest.

Aside from that, the group appeared on year-end award shows, proving that their popularity steadily increases and that they still have lots at their disposal to offer in the future.
