"Hello, this is EDAM Entertainment. While monitoring the opinions of fans in relation to IU's documentary 'Pieces: Twenty-Nine Year Old's Winter' that was announced today, we were informed that there have been grounds for misunderstanding. Hence, we would like to inform you of the facts.

First of all, we decided to prepare a documentary with the intention of making a meaningful gift to Uaena (IU's fandom) as IU is wrapping up her twenties with her self-composed album 'Pieces.' In order to closely capture the production process of the album 'Pieces,' we had frequent meetings with the artist until recently to finish filming. We are currently in the last stages of post-production.

Following the public announcement of the documentary today, we were notified that some fans had received individual phone calls from the label prior to the filming of the documentary.

As a result of fact-checking, it was confirmed that the documentary writer had contacted and interviewed fans at their own discretion to conduct interviews for data necessary for the pre-brief meetings. Prior to the production of the documentary, the writer withdrew from the project and all of the information collected were not included in the documentary.

We also confirmed with the external production staff currently working with the documentary team that were not informed of the incident above. In other to determine the full truth regarding the matter, our response to the incident was delayed, and we ask for the fan's understanding.

Lastly, we would like to sincerely apologize to all of Uaenas for causing misunderstanding. We will continue to put forth our best efforts in order to deliver the genuine story of IU through this documentary. We once again sincerely apologize for causing a misunderstanding."
