On Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. KST, an online press conference was held to commemorate the release of TREASURE's first mini-album "THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE" later this day.

The mini-album marks the YG boy group's first comeback in a year and a month since their first full-length album "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT" came out in January 2021.

TREASURE is the first act to make a comeback this year among YG artists. When asked if they feel any pressure from this, co-leader Jihoon said that there was a lot of pressure and worries. He added that the group was aware of the public's expectations and so they worked hard on it.

"THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE" consists of four new songs, one of which is "JIKJIN" which will serve as the album's title track. TREASURE's "JIKJIN" is described as a hip-hop song that heavily contains YG's distinct music.
As the online press conference continued, the 12-piece boy group was asked to share more about the title song, "JIKJIN."

TREASURE's leader Choi Hyunsuk, who is credited as a lyricist and composer for "JIKJIN," said that he heard the track for the first time in October of last year and at that time, he immediately thought "This is it" or "This must be the title song."

Hyunsuk added, "Simply speaking, the song was 'YG-like' and it is a song that says 'This is Treasure'. It's our comeback after a year, so I wanted to show an impactful thing and 'JIKJIN' was perfect for it. It was interesting."
The leader went on to say that he thinks their comeback wouldn't work without "JIKJIN" as the title track for TREASURE's first mini-album "THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE." He then revealed that there were other candidates to be the title song but all members of the group chose "JIKJIN."

Junghwan also shared his thoughts on the track. He shared that the chorus part got stuck in his ears as it was so addicting.

TREASURE was then asked to rate their satisfaction on "JIKJIN" and co-leader Jihoon responded that their satisfaction is up to 98 points. "We will fill the remaining two points while we promote the album," he continued.
Meanwhile, "THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE" will drop later at 6 p.m. KST, alongside the music video for TREASURE's "JIKJIN."
TREASURE's Latest Comeback Prior to Release of "THE SECOND STEP: CHAPTER ONE"
TREASURE's last comeback was on Jan. 11, 2021, when they released their first full-length album "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT." This album is the fourth installment of the group's "The First Step" series, which started since their debut in August 2020.

The five-month series concluded with a sales figure of more than one million copies, earning TREASURE the "million-seller" title. Among the four albums, "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT" had the most sales, selling 200,575 copies on the Hanteo Chart in the first week and 294,255 copies on the Gaon Chart in the first month.
