On March 6, a video titled "BIGBANG 2017 WELCOMING COLLECTION" was posted on various online communities. The netizen who shared it pointed out that the members seem to know what was going to happen to Seungri five years later.

At one point in the video, the BIGBANG members were talking about the letters they wrote for themselves and the fans which would be read after five years. G-Dragon said that he mentioned Seungri quite much in the letter he penned.

When asked to share what he said, GD stated, "It's a message to V.I.P. - Thank you for your support although we are only four." He was not able to finish his sentence as Seungri cut him and asked why only four.
Although GD's explanation was because Seungri might still be in the military, netizens find it suspicious as Seungri seems to feel uncomfortable.

As the video went on, BIGBANG had a situational play with the theme of "2022 BIGBANG." G-Dragon, Taeyang, Seungri, T.O.P, and Daesung acted as if they were in 2022.
Daesung jokingly told Seungri, "Seunghyun (Seungri's birth name), how have you been? What have you been doing while the four of us are promoting together?"

Taeyang then said to Seungri, "Hey, Seungri. Is that problem solved? You kept on contacting me and asking me to lend you money," making Seungri confused.
In response, Seungri said, "What are you talking about? Wait. I feel like I'm isolated."
He later stated, "I heard Daesung hyung had plastic surgery, but your eyes look the same as before."

Seungri also turned to Taeyang and asked, "Youngbae (Taeyang's real name), how is your wife doing?"
Taeyong responded, "She's fine."
He then said more things about Seungri like, "What a pity. You were banned from entering the country," making Seungri more bewildered.

This video of BIGBANG's 2017 welcoming collection resurfaces every year, but it drew more attention this year after Seungri got involved in the "Burning Sun" scandal, which led him to leaving the group and retiring from the entertainment industry in 2019.

BIGBANG Reportedly to Releasing New Album and Holding Offline Event
In other news, a financial report issued in February mentioned YG Entertainment's plan for BIGBANG this 2022.
On Feb. 7, YG Entertainment officially announced that BIGBANG will make their long-awaited return to the K-pop scene with a new song, which is set for release this spring. They added that the members have completed recording the track and were gearing up for the music video filming at that time.

According to a financial report on Feb. 24, YG plans to release a new album by BIGBANG in March. The news also stated that the group would hold an offline performance in May.
