On this day, BTS stunned at the red carpet with their head-to-toe Louis Vuitton suits, and brought the crowd at the ceremony to a standing ovation during their exciting performance of their hit 2021 summer single "Butter."

However, as the ceremony was well on its way, a photo of member V smoking at an unidentified area backstage at the Grammy Awards prior to their performance was published online, which quickly spread to social media and online community platforms.

According to fans who saw the photos, which features V smoking as he ditched his suit jacket and shoes and was with a staff member, the photos were take without his consent and was done by a sasaeng fan (obsessive fan).

While many were initially surprised to find out that V smokes cigarettes, they were quick to put aside their surprise and show support for the idol instead.

Fans took to Twitter to defend the BTS member's actions, with many stating that V is also a human and an adult, who can make his own decisions.
