Kogyeol Pre-Debut, Dream Job Aside from Being an Idol
Before Kogyeol debuted, he actually dreamt as a child of becoming a forklift driver. Later on, he took an interest in the business field and expressed his desire to become a CEO.
Nevertheless, Kogyeol is set to truly shine bright in the entertainment scene and realized his dream to become an artist when he was in high school.
He told his mom about his dream, but for sure, his mother had her initial doubts that Kogyeol's dream might change again.
To convince his mom, the male idol then joined a dance academy and learned the ways to become an idol. During the process, he was cast to join an audition and after trying out using Kim Bum Soo's "I Miss You," he passed the screening and became a trainee under TOP Media.
Kogyeol's Debut: Story Behind Screen Name
As a trainee for four years, Kogyeol didn't have it easy. Aside from adjusting to his new life in Seoul, he also has to endure the strict K-pop training system and spend his teens practicing hard with no assurance of when will he debut.
He almost gave up, but thanks to her mother and family's support he was able to surpass everything and finally joined the lineup for TOP Media's new boy group UP10TION.
Although Go Minsoo is already a beautiful name fitting for him which means "quick" and "excellent," he opted to use the screen name Kogyeol, which means, "noble."
With this name, he desires to become a man who is straightforward and honest, just like a real noble.
