Jang Hyunseung's Activities Before Leaving BEAST
As a member of BEAST, Jang Hyungseung debuted as the group's lead vocalist back on October 15, 2009 with their debut mini-album "BEAST is the B2ST" and its lead single "Bad Girl."
Following his debut with the group, Jang Hyunseung promoted with BEAST for several years. They released numerous albums together including "Shock of the New Era," "Mastermind," "Lights Go On Again," "Fiction and Fact," "Midnight Sun," "Good Luck," and more.

Jang Hyunseung's last release with the group was their eighth mini-album "Ordinary" in July 2015.
During his promotions with BEAST, Jang Hyunseung was also part of the duo Trouble Maker with then-fellow labelmate and former 4Minute member HyunA. As Trouble Maker, the duo released two mini albums.
Why Did Jang Hyunseung Leave BEAST?
In April 2016, it was announced by Cube Entertainment that Jang Hyunseung would no longer be promoting as a member of BEAST, with the group continuing on with five members. However, Jang Hyunseung would continue promoting as a solo artist under the label.
According to Cube Entertainment, Jang Hyunseung decided to withdraw from the group due to the differences in music styles between him and the other BEAST members.

The singer was also plagued with attitude controversies at the time, such as Jang Hyunseung looking uninterested during BEAST's promotions, or that he didn't attend the group's fanmeeting back in September 2015. He later apologized for his attitude controversy, and cited his own stubbornness and pride as what caused the rift between him and the members.

Following his departure from BEAST and continuing with his solo activities under Cube Entertainment, he joined the Mnet dance competition program "Hit the Stage" in July 2016, which marked his first broadcast appearance as a former BEAST member.
In December of the same year, Jang Hyunseung renewed his contract with the label, making him the only BEAST member to renew their exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment.

In 2017, he released his single "Home," before eventually enlisting for his mandatory military service in July 2018 as an active duty soldier. After two years of service, he was discharged in March 2020.
In December 2020, the former BEAST member released a new digital single called "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," which was his first release following his military service. However, since then, Jang Hyunseung has been relatively quiet, and hasn't had any new releases.

In August 2021, he parted ways with Cube Entertainment after 11 years. From December 2021 to March 2022, Jang Hyunseung participated in the music competition program "Double Trouble."
More recently, Jang Hyunseung is gearing up for his first talk concert "HOME: Jang Hyunseung 1st Talk Concert 2022" this coming July 9 KST.
