Catching BLACKPINK Jennie's Private Photos Leaker Prove Difficult as They Can't Pinpoint Origin

Recently on October 3, Youtuber and former entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho, who became infamously known for reporting on numerous celebrities and their controversies, had shared a new video through his Youtube channel regarding the recent issue involving BLACKPINK member Jennie's private photos being leaked online.

In this video, Lee Jin Ho explains why it would be difficult for Jennie and her agency, YG Entertainment, to pinpoint exactly where or who the leak of her private photos came from.

Lee Jin Ho explained, "May [private] photos have been leaked. It wasn't clear whether the photos were hacked or leaked after being shared with [Jennie's] friends. The important part is whether or not [Jennie's] phone was hacked. But even Jennie herself didn't seem to know."

He continued, "Because the [leaker] mentioned a Lee (Jennie and V's mutual friend), I thought that the photos were leaked through this person. Jennie then removed Lee from her [private] account, then unfollowed everyone and blocked all of her followers."

Given that, Lee Jin Ho concludes that Jennie herself may not know where the leak clearly came from.

Regarding the possibility of catching the person behind the leaks, Lee Jin Ho shares that it would be difficult to do so, given that the leaks were done through different platforms and that there would be issues in obtaining information from the platform itself.

"I check with an IT expert. He gave me a rather vague answer. Because the first distributor used Twitter and then Telegram. Illegal photos are being leaked through Telegram. You can file a complain with the Telegram ID, but there is no way to know who that person is," he said.

YG Entertainment Will Need to Request Data From Companies Involved

He continued, "And the most important thing is to hand over data about the [leaker] to be able to investigate. However, the problem is that Telegram has never handed over data to investigative agencies. Agencies have also requested data during the 'Nth Room' case, but Telegram didn't give any data to them."

Lee Jin Ho added that the only reason Telegram gave data regarding the "Nth Room" case was due to the case being raised as a possible terrorism issue by the government. Thus, it would be very difficult for YG Entertainment to gather data just for personal matters such as this.

However, if Telegram does cooperate and hands over data for investigation, YG Entertainment would still need to request another company for the data, such as Google, if the leaker used a Google account. But this would once again be difficult as Google doesn't give out data.

Meanwhile, Jennie has been a victim of a leak, in which her private photos with BTS V were exposed online.
