T1419 to Change Their Group Name- Here's Why

On Oct. 17, MLD Entertainment released a statement on T1419's official fan cafe announcing that the boy group will have a new name, TFN.

The company's statement is as follows:

"Hello, this is MLD Entertainment.

We are letting you know that starting from Oct. 17, 2022, T1419 will be changing their group name to 'TNF.'

In order to make a new start, T1419 has added the new meaning 'Try For New' to 'Teenager Fourteen Nineteen,' the original meaning [of their group name], which is why they have changed their name to TFN.

We ask that you give your generous love and support to TFN, who is making a fresh start.

Thank you."

Along with the announcement, MLD Entertainment also revealed the group's new official logo.

T1419- now called TFN- is a nine-piece boy group that made their debut in 2021. The members are Noa, Sian, Kevin, Gunwoo, Leo, On, Zero, Kairi, and Kio.

TFN's Recent Activities

Before changing their name to TFN, T1419 had released several new singles plus an album in the past months.

In particular, the boy group kicked off 2022 with a Japanese debut on March 9 with their first extended play titled "Our Teen: Blue Side." A total of seven songs are included in the album, one of them is the title track "Run Up" (which was pre-released on Feb. 23) and another pre-released song called "Daydreamer."

Following its release, T1419's Japanese EP debuted at No. 14 on Oricon's Daily Album Chart dated March 8. It also entered at No. 32 on Oricon's Weekly Album Chart for the week of March 7 to 13.

The group's Japanese debut was followed by the release of multiple digital singles, such as "Edelweiss" on March 22 and "When The Sun Goes Down" on July 3. "Edelweiss" is actually the name of the group's fan club, while the latter song was sung in Spanish and is their first release in that language.

Other than their musical releases, T1419 had also been active in attending or performing in various events. For instance, the band appeared at the Premios Juventud award show in July, and performed at the Korea-japan Exchange Festival 2022 in Tokyo on Sept. 24.

Then, on Oct. 15 and 16, MLD's boy group took part in KAMP LA 2022. The group was originally set to perform on Oct. 16 only, but due to the absence of five K-pop artists who were included in the lineup for Day 1, they became special guests on the first day of the event (together with MOMOLAND).
