5 K-pop Idols Who Once Deleted Their SNS Accounts + Reasons
Social media has good effects like keeping in touch with family and friends wherever they are in the world and getting up to date on recent happenings. But it also has negative effects such as cyberbullying, rumor spreading, malicious comments, among others. Given the bad effects of social media, it isn't too big of a surprise that many people, especially celebrities like K-pop idols, get worn out and decide to delete their accounts.
Below is a list of a few K-pop idols who once deleted their SNS accounts.

While Kang Daniel has an Instagram account (@daniel.k.here) at present, he once had an IG account when he was competing in Mnet's "Produce 101" (Season 2). But he suddenly deleted the account, and no one knows what made him do it. It could probably be because of the hate comments about him.
Block B U-Kwon
Like Kang Daniel, Block B U-Kwon also had an Instagram account prior to his current one (@uk_0530). He shut his IG account down in 2014 after getting some nasty comments when his then-girlfriend Jun Sunhye caught the bouquet at a wedding.
In fact, his then-girlfriend was the first one who decided to delete her IG account, and he soon followed, disappointing many fans. Luckily, he created a new one.
Former Jewelry Seo In Young
Another K-pop idol who deleted her SNS account is former Jewelry member Seo In Young. Her decision to delete her account came after she was embroiled in a controversy.
In 2017, a leaked video and a long post about Seo In Young verbally abusing staff members while filming for the JTBC reality TV show "With You" in Dubai surfaced. Prior to this, the program was already canceled without explanations.

But because of the leaked video and post made by a JTBC staff member, people speculated that Seo In Young was the main reason the show got canceled. However, representatives of JTBC later said that Seo In Young and Crown J decided to cancel their appearance on the show, and so the program abruptly ended.
Former Jewelry member Seo In Young now has a new Instagram account.
VIXX Leo
Back in 2016, VIXX Leo ended up deleting his social media accounts after a fan club owner turned other fans against him. The conflict began when a fan club administrator identified as "Close To You" posted a vague picture of Leo with a birthday hat to her IG account captioned with, "Together."

Other fans who saw it accused Jellyfish Entertainment of scheduling a special event with the fan site and called for a boycott. There were fans who left comments under VIXX Leo's Instagram and Twitter posts.
Fortunately, things were cleared after both Jellyfish Entertainment and "Close To You" released a statement. Now, VIXX Leo freely posts on his SNS accounts.
Former JYJ Park Yoochun
Former JYJ member Park Yoochun deleted his Instagram account not only once but thrice. The first deletion was in 2017 when he was receiving a lot of hate comments. He returned to IG some time later, but he deleted it once again in June 2018. In 2019, it was found out that he made another IG account, which was eventually deleted as well.
In 2020, Park Yoochun opened new Twitter and Instagram accounts, which remain active at present.
Do you know other K-pop idols who also deleted their SNS account and created a new one?
