BTS Makes History at 2022 American Music Awards After Sweeping This Award 4 Times

BTS did not perform at the 2022 American Music Awards, but the K-pop supergroup was still able to impress its fans all over the globe.

On November 20, the 2022 American Music Awards held its annual ceremony at Microsoft Theater. It aired the whole event on ABC's streaming site and Hulu, showing off its guests, including PINK, Yola, WIZKID, Stevie Wonder, Anitta, Charlie Puth, David Guetta, D - Nice, GloRilla, Imagine Dragons, and Lil Baby, among others.

This year, though, BTS did not grace its stage due to members' scheduled individual projects, but the award-giving body honored the group once again.

Ahead of the live telecast, the official Twitter page of the American Music Awards also confirmed that BTS won the AMAs for Favorite Pop Duo or Group.

Although the award itself was already a huge recognition, it also marked the fourth time BTS won the award four times. With that, the K-pop group is the first and only artist in AMA history to reach that milestone.
