The much-anticipated 2022 MAMA Awards finally transpired. On November 29, the prestigious event's Day 1 commenced in Osaka, and several of your favorite artists took home awards.

From Stray Kids To Kep1er: Various Artists Graced MAMA Awards 2022 With Impressive Stage

On November 29, the Day 1 of the MAMA Awards, one of the most prestigious annual year-end music awards in the K-pop industry, finally kickstarted in Japan. The event was held in Kyocera Dome Osaka, and was witnessed by the ovef 35,000 spectators.

Aside from this, the show was also streamed live for hundreds of thousands of K-pop fans around the world through the music cable channel as well as on its official YouTube channel.

Hosted by Jeon Somi & Park Bogum, the event was lively with the Day 1 artist lineup during the red carpet event.

The artists who attended include Stray Kids, TXT, JO1, Kep1er, HYOLYN, BIBI, Forestella, Kang Daniel, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM, Leejung Lee, the crews from Mnet's "Street Man Fighter," KARA and DKZ.

The artists' visuals are enough to light up the atmosphere of the event, but the event received more applause from the crowd with the impressive performance of the artists.

Hyolyn x BIBI set the stage ablaze first with their sizzling collab performance of "LAW" originally released by BIBI and Yoo Mirae and "youknowbetter" by Hyolyn.

The former SISTAR also performed her song, "Layin Low," while the latter flaunted outstanding stage for "Vengeance."

Among the performances, the collaboration stage of the five "4th Gen Representative Girl Groups" including IVE, NMIXX, Kep1er, LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans became the talk of the town for its cover of TWICE's "Cheer Up."

Kang Daniel and Street Man Fighter crews also made viewers move their bodies with their collaboration stage.

During the awarding part, BTS extended their record as the K-pop artist with the most daesang in history with 68, after winning "Worldwide Icon of the Year." The septet also entered Worldwide Fans Choice Top 10.

MAMA Awards was initially launched in 1999 as the Mnet Video Music Awards centered on awarding music videos.

Later on, it changed its name to Mnet Asian Music Awards and started presenting artists from/in other Asian countries as well in 2009.

In 2022, the awards ceremony became the MAMA Awards to cater to its ambitious plan of developing into the world's No. 1 awards ceremony for K-pop.
