THIS (G)I-DLE Member Joins Dazed 100 As The Only Korean Artist on The List

Dazed is a popular magazine known for featuring famous celebrities. In a recent issue, one (G)I-DLE member made it on Dazed 100 this year as the only Korean artist on the list.

(G)I-DLE Soyeon Recognized As The Only Korean Artist To Join Dazed 100

(G)I-DLE member and leader Jeon Soyeon is featured as the only Korean artist to join the list, forging another breakthrough!

During these year-end activities, Dazed magazine has published its list of 100 creatives worldwide, who made definitive impact on culture, designs, music, and internet. These people are selected by Dazed, due to their creativity and influence in today's time.

"A generation of digital pioneers defining a new era of the internet and shaping the future of culture."

It showcased with Soyeon's picture, with a caption stating that she is a "rapper kicking down doors for generations of women K-pop idols yet to come".

The content is also followed by a review from journalist Taylor Gatsby.

It tackled on how the rapper, with her groupmates, brought initiative to (G)I-DLE's musicality through self-producing. Soyeon, being the leader she is, volunteered to write and co-produced their debut song "LATATA."

The track became a hit and was loved by fans, contributing another instant smash on the K-pop scene.

In the article, it also stated how Soyeon has become a K-pop unicorn, who takes command and passion into production, writing, and diverse approaches in musicality.

The journalist also explained how vocal Soyeon is regarding misogyny and objectification.

It followed by a piece of Soyeon's interview from Teen Vogue, in which the (G)I-DLE leader expressed her thoughts on how rare it was for female idols to compose during their pre-debut days.

 "Before debuting, it was rare for female idols to learn composition, so when I said I wanted to compose and produce, everyone thought it was strange."

Furthermore, journalist Taylor Gatsby described her as a divisive idol and songwriter, laying out opportunities for learning curves. It also mentioned how Soyeon is opening closed doors for future female idols, giving them more opportunities regarding inspiration, open creativity, and song composition.

"Since striding on to the world stage, she's been divisive as an idol and writer, her still-ascending career peppered with steep learning curves and creative speed bumps. But, more so, it's one of wild ambition and ground-breaking triumphs. Soyeon is kicking down long-guarded doors for generations of women K-pop idols yet to come."
