PLEDIS Entertainment Announces SEVENTEEN The8's Suspension Due to Health Concerns

In recent news, SEVENTEEN The8 will not be attending their upcoming world tour in Jakarta, because of an unexpected health issue.

The8 was reported to have symptoms of flu, and is now receiving treatment for the time being. It also stated how the idol's health is going to be their priority.

The statement ended with PLEDIS asking fans for their understanding, while waiting for The8's full recovery.

On December 27, PLEDIS Entertainment released a statement for the idol's welfare, health and recovery.

"Hello.
This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to inform you that SEVENTEEN Member The8 will not be able to participate in the SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN] - JAKARTA Concert.

The8 visited the hospital as he was experiencing flu symptoms, received treatment and is currently resting as per to the medical staff's advice.

Although the artist himself expressed his strong wish to participate in the event, placing the medical staff's advice and our artist's health as a top priority, it has been decided that he will not be attending the Jakarta concert on Wednesday, the 28th (Indonesia Time).

We ask our fans who have awaited this concert for your kind consideration.

We will do our best to aid in The8's treatment and recovery so that he can return in full health to his fans as quickly as possible.

Thank you."

SEVENTEEN Embarks on 2022 World Tour 'BE THE SUN'

In other news, SEVENTEEN set out to venture for their 2022 world tour "BE THE SUN."

On May 17, SEVENTEEN announced their plans for a tour this year. "BE THE SUN" will be their first world tour in two years, since their previous "Ode To You" in 2019 to 2020.

The poster showed that SEVENTEEN's 2022 world tour began on June 25 and 26, with two nights of performances at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome.

SEVENTEEN then flew to North America, where they held concerts in 12 different cities.

SEVENTEEN performed gigs around six domes in Japan, from November to December this year, before embarking on an Asian tour.

The group then headed to Bulacan, Philippines on December 17, and then followed by Jakarta, Indonesia on December 28.

In Jakarta, they will hold their concert in the Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium.
