SHINee Onew Becomes Emotional During 'Selene 8.23' Rehearsal

In other news, SHINee Onew turned emotional during a rehearsal.

On August 3, JTBC's "Sea of Hope" finished its business across Pohang. During a preview on its upcoming episode, the clip gained attention due to SHINee's song "Selene 6.23."

The song was written by the late SHINee Jonghyun, which is dedicated to the biggest supermoon in 2013. It's also a memorable track for SHINee's fandom, Shawols.

In the preview, Onew and singer Sunwoo Jung-a covered the song. Onew was unable to contain his emotions and asked for a timeout. The idol stated, "I feel like I am going to cry."

In the official performance, Shawols empathized with Onew. They commended Onew's courage to sing the song, despite being emotional in the rehearsal.

See their comments below:

"I can literally see Onew holding back his tears and giving his all to the performance. Jonghyun's lyrics, Onew's voice and the precious memories makes this song so special."

"Big respect for Onew. Before he sang this song, he wanted to run away and cry. But he could handle his feelings, and sang his heart out. He gave his best to the audience, and of course to his best friend, Jonghyun."

"As a Shawol, I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that Jinki became the leader of the best group ever. He is so strong, brave, and always doing his best for his younger brothers. Onew is literally the purest, most humble, precious human being ever."
