NewJeans' 'OMG' Reaches THIS Huge Feat on Spotify

NewJeans has achieved a new milestone in Spotify with "OMG," taking them once again to the charts' limelight.

NewJeans' 'OMG' Attains New Milestone With 100 Million Streams On Spotify  

On February 9, it was announced that NewJeans' latest title track "OMG" has reached the 100 millionth mark on Spotify.

Their official Twitter post relayed Spotify's announcement, showcasing congratulatory content. Spotify also revealed that the group now contain four songs that exceeded 100 million streams. Notably, both "OMG" and "Ditto" gained faster 100 million streams than "Attention" and "Hype Boy."

With this achievement, the group shows a solid footing in the K-pop industry, as well as present  a promising year.

NewJeans didn't only make headlines in Spotify, but also in Billboard. On January 25, Billboard revealed that NewJeans' "OMG" has entered it Hot 100 list, making its place on No. 91.

The feat marked NewJeans' second entry on Billboard Hot 100, which followed "Ditto" that debuted on No. 96. It also indicates the group's highest-ranking chart.

Even though NewJeans is a rookie group, their popularity and fanbase are skyrocketing. They have also become the fastest K-pop artist to enter multiple records on Billboard, and the quickest to debut at Hot 100.

They have also joined iconic acts BTS and BLACKPINK, for being the third K-pop group to place at Hot 100 with multiple releases.

In other news, NewJeans made history with their "OMG" physical album sales. On January 27, it was announced that NewJeans' first single album "OMG" has sold 1,013,62 copies, according to Circle Chart.

This feat was achieved by NewJeans in just six months after debuting, which makes them the fastest K-pop group to become a million seller. NewJeans is now also the seventh K-pop girl group in history to achieve a million-selling release, while being the youngest on attaining it.

According to Circle Chart, a total of 720,000 physical albums were sold, and 290,000 originated from Weverse. On its first day, "OMG" reached a half-million sellouts with a number of 480,000. This breakthrough surpassed album "NewJeans," which sold 311,271 in its first-week sales.

"OMG" has proven its popularity in both streaming platforms and physical album sales. The music video for "OMG" was posted on January 2, and has gained love across fandoms.

"I feel like they are one step ahead for next K-pop generations and their concepts would never get tired or bored."

"New Jeans really stands out amidst the 4th gen girl groups. I feel like before they debuted, the groups were trying too hard to stand out using weird/loud song mashups or CGI heavy concepts."

"The CBO did a great job focusing on their natural fresh youth and having simple nostalgic songs."
