Where is Former CLC Seungyeon Now? Here's The Status of Group's Leader

Jang Seungyeon is a former member and leader of girl group CLC, who managed to be on of 3rd-gen K-pop's representatives. After CLC's disbandment following the members' contract expiration, here are Seungyeon's current activities and whereabouts.

Jang Seungyeon's Trainee Days & Idol Career With CLC

Before debuting, Seungyeon attended Seoul's prestigious School of Performing Arts, where many idols took their education and rose to become one of K-pop's powerhouse artists.

On May 12, 2014, G.NA released the music video for track "Secret," where five of CLC's members appeared as backup dancers.

The crew included members Seunghee, Yujin, Sorn, Yeeun, and Seungyeon herself. From there, Seungyeon was trained to smile, dance, and gaze in front of a camera. She has also appeared on BTOB's "Beep Beep" MV.

Seungyeon finally made her debut with CLC on March 19, 2015. The group had officially dropped their first mini album "First Love," containing the title song, "Pepe." It was followed by their first digital single, "Eighteen." The group operated under Cube Entertainment.

Afterwards, CLC made their second comeback with mini album "Question," with its title track "Like" on May 28, 2015. Initially a five membered-group, CLC added two additional members on February 23, 2016, namely Eunbin and Elkie.

The year 2016 was a historic one for CLC, since it's also the year when the girl group has made their first Japanese debut, and giving fans their official name, Cheshire. On March 7, 2016, CLC's leader role was passed down to Seungyeon, which was previously held by fellow member Seunghee.

With CLC's member roster and role finalized, the group then followed up by a series of bops on their remaining years. CLC released well-loved songs such as "High Heels" (2016), "Hobgoblin" (2017), "Where Are You?" (2017), "To The Sky" (2018), "Black Dress" (2018). "No. 1" (2019), "Me" (2019), "Devil" (2019) and "Helicopter" (2020).

From December 2020 to May 2022, CLC members arrived on the verge of their contracts' expiration date. This led to Cube Entertainment and CLC members reaching out on a series of mutual agreements regarding departure, as well as renewal.  

On March 18, 2022, Cube Entertainment released an official statement announcing the expired contracts of Seungyeon and Yeeun. It also revealed that Seungyeon will be leaving the group and agency.

Jang Seungyeon's Current Whereabouts & Solo Activities

On February 8, 2023, Seungyeon reportedly pushed her career as soloist and signed on her new agency, Wild Entertainment.

Apart from her career as a solo artist, Seungyeon is consistently active in her Instagram accounts, updating fans of her current whereabouts. Seungyeon's posts include her going to various countries, cities, and flaunting her sizzling visuals.

With Seungyeon's fresh start on Wild Entertainment, fans are surely eager to know what the idol has in store for them. Seungyeon has gone a long way with CLC, and adding her experience from her past affiliations, fans are counting on the idol to shine on her own!
