f(x) Amber Re-Debut? Anticipation Arises Following THIS Report

Amid the indefinite hiatus of f(x), main rapper Amber is reportedly preparing for her re-debut in a new girl group after this news circulated on the web.

f(x) Amber To Reportedly Join Girl Group Survival Show 'Sisters Who Make Waves 2023'

f(x) Amber is said to be joining the Chinese survival show, "Sisters Who Make Waves 2023" with the aim of re-debuting in a new girl group!

On April 5, several Chinese entertainment outlets reported the list of the prospective cast members of the fourth season of the popular audition program, where former miss A Fei and Girls' Generation Jessica also appeared.

The program aims to cast women in their 30s and older who want to have their "second heyday" by competing to become a member of a new girl group. A total of 33 people, including 17 Chinese, 4 Hong Kongers, 5 Taiwanese, and 7 other foreigners, will compete based on the list released on the day by multiple outlets.

However, among the people written on the list, a familiar name drew the attention of K-pop fans. This is because one idol was listed among the foreign participants and it is none other than f(x) Amber!

According to local media, the first recording took place in Changsha, China. The tentative result after the filming of the first competition was also revealed. Amber particularly scored 74 points during the audience voting, drawing attention if she will be able to keep this support until the final round.

If the idol makes it in the final lineup, f(x) Amber will re-debut in a new girl group after leaving SM Entertainment and amid the indefinite hiatus of her first group.

This time, the singer-rapper is expected to transition from being a K-pop idol to a Mando-pop star.

On the other hand, aside from Amber, another Korean, Choo Ja Hyun, who's a well-known Korean actress, is expected to join the program as well. Earlier, the 44-year-old star was spotted going to Changsha from Beijing, where her home is.

Unfortunately, reports hinted that Choo Ja Hyun failed to make it to the final top 20 after the first round.

Since 2007, Choo Ja Hyun had been actively working in China until the Korean celebrity ban in the country happened. Once it was slowly lifted, the actress showed her desire to become active in the Chinese industry once again.

What Happened to f(x)? Members Status

f(x), a K-pop legendary girl group, was launched by SM Entertainment in 2009. The team comprised of Victoria, Luna, Amber, Krystal and the late Sulli.

Since then, they became known for their hits, "Electric Shock," "Rum Pum Pum Pum," "La Cha Ta," and more.

Sulli left in 2015, and the members decided to pursue individual activities since 2016. Without an official comeback, the members one by one left SM from 2019 to 2021.

Currently, Victoria is focused on her acting career in China, while Krystal also pursued being an actress in Korea. Luna became a musical actress, while Amber pursued a solo music path.

Despite this, the members repeatedly stated that the team didn't disband and will most likely reunite in the future.
