On April 26, Taeyang of BIGBANG guested on tVN's variety program "Yoo Quiz on the Block."
During the episode, the "VIBE" singer opened up about his love story with wife Min Hyo Rin. Taeyang recalled one incident when he was shooting for the "1AM" music video.
The idol shared that since the set lacked a female lead, he considered Min Hyo Rin for the role, thanks to a recommendation from fellow bandmate G-Dragon.
The actress didn't hesitate to agree. Afterwards, the two were revealed to be a match, leading to a romantic relationship.
"We matched perfectly when we talked. I had no dating experience back then, so I could've been uncomfortable. But she wasn't awkward at all, as she guided me."
"So, I decided to contact her next time since I wanted to see her again when the job was finished. I was drawn to her each time we met, and had the thought of marriage if it was with her."
However, Taeyang revealed that because of his busy schedule in international areas, his time in Korea became less.
This led to the couple breaking up for a period of time. To express the feelings he's had for Min Hyo Rin, Taeyang put those emotions lyrically, creating the song "EYES, NOSE, LIPS."

The song wasn't just only well-received by V.I.P.s, but also Min Hyo Rin herself, who saw the song's sincerity.
Taeyang then stated that thanks to the song, he and Min Hyo Rin ended back together again.
"I became really busy since I was in a world tour. So, I didn't have much time to stay in Korea. Reflecting on it, I lacked in knowledge since I didn't have any dating experience.
"She must've felt discouraged during those times, then we had this period of breakup. During that sad time, I expressed those feelings of missing her and wrote 'Eyes, Nose, Lips.'"
"I also showed the track to Min Hyo Rin, since it contained my feelings and she loved it genuinely. Afterwards, we ended up dating again."

Taeyang released "EYES, NOSE, LIPS" on June 2, 2014. The song is one of the best classic hits in K-pop due to its heartbreaking lyrics and ballad instrumental. The song also excelled on various domestic and international charts.
