The Korean Business Research Institute has announced the May brand reputation rankings for K-pop boy groups. The results were derived from various aspects such as interaction, community indexes, media coverage, consumer participation, and overall exposure.

For its coverage, the institute collected data from April 13 to May 13, threading through the boy groups' activities. Since May has been a busy month for K-pop, fans are curious on the rankings in terms of popularity.

Here are top 5 K-pop boy groups who dominated May 2023 brand reputation rankings!

1. BTS

K-pop's biggest boy group BTS remained unbothered in their No. 1 spot, making their 60th consecutive month on the rankings. This inclusion also indicates their uninterrupted placing on the top spot for five years.

For the month of May, BTS gained a 5.32 percent increase in their score, causing them to garner a brand reputation index of 9,949,491. This outcome has surpassed their previous result of 9,446,687 during their April rankings.

On their positivity-negativity analysis, BTS secured 87.50 percent positive reactions. Even though member Jin is on hiatus, the seven-membered group never fails to set foot on the trends.

2. SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN defended their position on No. 2, where they garnered a brand reputation index of 5,045,808 due to a 73.14 percent increase. Their May score revealed an excellent score performance, highly exceeding their previous figure of 2,914,260 in April.

They also earned buzz for their newest mini album "FML," which became the best-selling K-pop album ever, breaking records in music charts. Its title track "Super" also established itself as a trend-setter on dance challenges, streams, and many more.

3. EXO

The "Nation's Pick" EXO held on to their spot on No. 3 for May. According to the list, EXO has collected a 19.98 percent increase, leading to a brand reputation index of 2,800,840. This marks an impressive jump from their April score of 2,334,239.

4. NCT

On the fourth place, NCT earned the No. 4 place with a brand reputation index of 2,698,772. This is because of their 32.76 percent rise in score.

5. BTOB

Lastly, BTOB closed in the top five with a brand reputation index of 2,136,822 due to a 7.95 percent increase.
