It seems some people raised their brows at aespa's comeback album "My World," but the quartet proved their popularity with these achievements.

5 Reasons aespa's 'My World' Isn't 'Flop'

After their 10-month hiatus, aespa returned to the music scene on May 8 with their third mini-album, "My World," which introduced the title track, "Spicy."

Following its release, the group promoted the new album via music and radio broadcast interviews, and created YouTube content, not to mention participating in various university festivals and fashion events.

On June 2, aespa completed their activities for "My World." However, some music fans showed sour reactions to the quartet's release and called it a "flop." They also compared the SM Entertainment group to other 4th-gen acts like IVE, (G)I-DLE, and LE SSERAFIM.

They continue to claim that "My World" is a "complete failure," but its achievements prove otherwise!

aespa Attains All-Time Record Among Girl Groups in Terms of Album Sales

With "My World," aespa snagged the position of being a K-pop girl group with highest pre-order volume of 1.8 million copies!

In addition to this, the quartet also achieved first place in highest sales on the first day among K-pop girl group release (1,372,929 copies, based on Hanteo Chart) as well as the highest first-week sales among female groups (1,698,784 copies).

With this, they became "double million seller" with sales of over 2,010,000 copies!

What is more impressive with this record is that aespa achieved all these with a mini-album – not a full-length album – in just 2 and half years since their debut.

aespa's 'Spicy' Tops Local & International Charts, Music Shows

Following the release of aespa's "Spicy," the song immediately entered the top of major domestic and international music charts including Genie, Bugs and MelOn.

With its popularity among music fans, the quartet swept first-place trophies in various music shows, such as MBC's "Music Core" and SBS's "Inkigayo," bringing home four gold medals in total.

aespa Dominates SNS With 'Spicy' Challenge

Aside from its reign in music charts, aespa also achieved overwhelming interest from netizens with their "Spicy Challenge" in various SNS including TikTok.

Among celebrities, NCT Jungwoo, KARA Heo Youngji, BTOB Seo Eunkwang, Lee Changsub, MONSTA X Jooheon, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, more also joined the dance challenge!

aespa Shines at Cannes Red Carpet as First K-pop Girl Group To Be Invited

During their promotion, Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing also showcased their global sensation position after being the first K-pop girl group to be invited to Cannes Film Festival held on May 24.

At the time, aespa became a hot topic for their stunning beauty as global ambassadors for the luxury brand, Chopard.

aespa Embarks on Full-Fledged Tour in US and Europe

Thanks to this album, aespa's popularity and influence got stronger. Now, they herald a first solo concert, "SYNK: HYPER LINE," in the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to these, aespa showed strong ticket power in their Asian concert, such as having 10 sold-out concerts in Japan, just after the ticketing sales opened.

As a result, they confirmed the high interest of global music fan, and fans are focused if they will be able to record sold-out concerts in their 14 performances throughout US and Europe.
