Recently, idol-turned-actor Super Junior Siwon sat down for an interview with Star News at the SM Entertainment office in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
On June 10 then, the Korean media outlet released a comprehensive article answering questions as he looked back on his career in the entertainment industry.
While on the topic of being a Super Junior member, the idol was then asked if he has any plans of doing either solo or unit activities. In context, among members, Siwon didn't debut in a unit or released any solo album yet.

In response, Siwon revealed which members he wants to do a sub-unit with if he will be given a chance, saying:
"Personally, I want to work on a new project with LeeTeuk and ShinDong."
Regarding the concept, he added:
"It's a team that's never been active, but I want to give off a classy yet B-class vibe. It's kind of like a "sub-character" (in a game). I really want to wear trot outfits and sing an exciting song. It's a song that's really like 'Suju."

As for the inspiration for the concept and their possible performance, Siwon also mentioned:
"There are a lot of Psy's songs out of my favorite songs. I listen to it all to relieve stress. Like DJ DOC and UV hyungs. Wouldn't it relieve our stress and make us feel excited if we sing it while doing that? I really hope we can come out someday."

In terms of his solo future plans, Siwon didn't elaborate anything yet but hinted:
" There are several works currently being tuned. I'm going to do something fun, so please look forward to it."

In the same interview, the "Mango" singer then looked back on his 18-year-long career under Super Junior. Despite being in the music industry for about two decades, the team continues to dominate the K-pop scene in the fourth-gen era.
When asked if he knew Super Junior will last this long, Siwon revealed his initial worries after he debuted and the time he finally felt the relief.
"I had a strange, rare confidence. I thought everyone was going to do well, and I had no worries. Then there was a moment when I felt a sense of pressure or crisis at the beginning of my debut, and I was really determined and prayed that it would go well.
After that, we promoted "Sorry Sorry" and went global. I was lucky enough that everything went well. I'm so thankful when I think about that."
While on the topic, the "Hallyu King" also revealed his thoughts on how they were able to do Super Junior for 18 years, saying:
"It's truly our passion. The members talk about this a lot, too. We've never taken a break from promotions. That's why we needed some time to recharge. But I think it's passion when you keep running. If we didn't have passion, I think we wouldn't have been able to do enough activities."
