Unnamed Woman Claims Wheesung Told 'Hired Thugs' To Kill Her After She Saw Him Using Propofol: Army Confirms Singer Was Investigated For Drug

An unnamed woman is claiming that 31-year-old South Korean R&B singer Wheesung ordered "hired thugs" to kill her after she saw him after she saw him receiving injections of the drug propofol while serving in the army, according to the JTBC news service.

"I saw [Wheesung receiving propofol injections] multiple times a month," the source said.

"Just in the army, I saw him doing it five to six times over a span of two weeks. He wanted to keep me silent, so he even hired thugs. I was told that he told them to kill me."

Mainly used an anesthetic, propofol is perhaps best known for causing Michael Jackson's fatal overdose in 2009, along with the psychoactive drug benzodiazepine.

On Tuesday, South Korean Army prosecutors alleged Wheesung was administered propofol numerous times during a vacation, according to the Korea Star Daily.

They revealed that the army has investigated the singer two times for abusing the drug.

Wheesung's lawyer Son Su Ho called the reports of propofol abuse utter nonsense.

"It's not true at all," Son said.

"We've currently prepared proof that he only administered [the drug] for treatment purposes. We're shocked that this came out while investigations are still ongoing. Soon, everything will be revealed, and Wheesung will be cleared of his accusations."

A representative from the singer's management company claims they were shocked by the reports.

"Wheesung is currently in the army, and we did not receive any news about it, so we don't really have a full understanding of the actual situation," the rep explained.

"We only learned about this after reading about it through news reports. All issues pertaining to the use of propofol by Wheesung will be handled by the legal team."

Wheesung, whose real name is Choi Hwee Sung, is currently serving out the end of his two years of mandatory national military service.

The singer will be formally discharged from the army in August.

Although Son acknowledges his client has received propofol injections, he claims the star never abused the drug.

"Wheesung had propofol administered to him as a painkiller," the lawyer explained.

Wheesung received surgery to repair a herniated disc last July, according to enewsWorld.

"All of the propofol that Wheesung was administered with was within the proper treatment procedures, and did not violate the law," Son added.

"If there is a need, we can reveal the related documents to back up our statements."
