ITZY Yuna Gets Cursed At by Audience Member — And Yeji Is Not Having It

Yuna received vulgar language from an audience member, gaining the attention of MIDZYs and group leader Yeji.

ITZY Yuna Receives Vulgar Language From Audience Member at KCON LA 2023

The clip spread like wildfire across the internet.

On August 21, netizens and MIDZYs online aired out their thoughts on a viral clip, which showed MIDZYs interview segment during KCON LA 2023, particularly on its third and final day in August 20, Sunday, local time.

Like all artists in the lineup, ITZY also had the special portion of the event where they could chat with fans. This can comprise them chatting with audiences or answering fun interview questions. The video clip showed the "CAKE" hitmakers engaging on a question about their go-to fashion nowadays.

Despite being meant to be a memorable time for MIDZYs and ITZY, an audience member's rude behavior immediately earned the ire of the K-pop community. During the interview, ITZY was talking alongside the hosts, and Yuna had to think more about her answer.

As a result, the crowd began to excitingly prompt Yuna to hurry up, just as when an audience member suddenly shouted at Yuna, "Hurry up, bi**h!"

While the context is inherently shocking as evident with the fans' reactions and due to use of vulgar language, what gained even more attention was the reaction of ITZY's leader Yeji, who tilted her head upon hearing the remark and gave a sour expression.

MIDZYs expressed their outrage on the incident, saying how they wanted to join Yeji in "clapping back" to the fan who cursed Yuna. They also exclaimed how the rude comment was uncalled for, as well as pointed out the cultural differences that are entangled in the situation.

Boundaries are a known topic in K-pop. Since in the K-pop industry, artists and fandom thrive altogether, which can lead to some bad apples inside a certain fanbase. Debates can arise regarding the etiquette of fans when it comes to treating idols in certain ways.

There are idols that can reciprocate the feelings of fans as if they were their friends, and undoubtedly, it can work on several occasions, depending on their outlook. However, in Yuna's case, the fan's attempt to get closer came out as disrespectful and seemingly backfired.

In other news, ITZY returned to the music scene with their long-awaited seventh mini album "KILL MY DOUBT" and their title track "CAKE" on July 31.

The album also contains pre-releases "BET ON ME" and "None of My Business," along with B-sides "Psychic Lover," "Kill Shot," and "Bratty."
