2023 MTV Video Music Awards Announces Star-Studded K-pop Nominees

K-pop has been seeing international success nowadays and has shown no signs of stopping. With this incredible momentum with its artists and fans, it's also important to note their hard work and dedication in the music industry.

The 2023 MTC Video Music Awards (VMAs) is one of the most highly anticipated awards show in the world, as it will recognize artists around the globe. Since K-pop is the hottest there is, fans are excited to know who'll win awards at the special occasion.

On September 1, local time, MTV officially announced 2023's second nominees into four categories: Song of Summer, Show of the Summer, Group of the Year, and Album of the Year. In these categories, numerous K-pop artists have been included.

In Song of Summer, the awards show included K-pop artists BTS Jungkook, TXT, and FIFTY FIFTY, who all made international recognition. The songs nominated were solo debut "Seven (feat. Latto)," Jonas Brothers collab "Do It Like That," and viral track "Cupid."

For the category of Show of the Summer, global girl group BLACKPINK has been nominated due to their ongoing "BORN PINK" world tour that spanned worldwide and reached millions of BLINKs.

Lastly, for Group of the Year award, artists FIFTY FIFTY, NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, and BLACKPINK also received nods from the awards show.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" was also nominated for categories such as Best K-pop, Best Editing, Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, and Best Editing. This makes BLACKPINK the K-pop artist with the most number of nominations this 2023.

As for K-pop male groups, TXT earned the greatest number of nominations, which in overall are Push Performance of the Year, Best K-pop, Song of Summer, and Group of the Year.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN and FIFTY FIFTY are going head-to-head with each other on both Group of the Year and Best K-pop.

The songs nominated for Best K-pop are "Girls" (aespa), "Pink Venom" (BLACKPINK), "Sugar Rush Ride" (TXT), "Super" (SEVENTEEN), "S-Class" (Stray Kids), and "Cupid" (FIFTY FIFTY).

The 2023 MTV VMAs will be broadcasted live on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
