Dongyo Entertainment Announces Former DKZ Kyoungyoon's Military Enlistment

The former DKZ member's current status has been updated.

On September 11, DKZ's agency Dongyo Entertainment announced on their official SNS about ex-member Kyoungyoon's quiet enlistment in the military as an active-duty soldier.

The agency also asked for the understanding of Kyoungyoon's fans regarding the decision not to announce Kyoungyoon's enlistment, as this is to fulfill the idol's request to enlist quietly and finish his service with diligence.

"Hello. This is Dongyo Entertainment.

We would like to express our gratitude to the fans who are always giving out support and cheers to Kyoungyoon. We are also announcing about his military enlistment.

On September 11, today, Monday, Kyoungyoon's plans to enlist in the military as an active-duty soldier has transpired by him having joined a recruit training center.

We kindly ask for fans' understanding regarding with the notion of us not making the announcement, due to respecting Kyoungyoon's personal wish to enlist quietly, and eventually, have his service in the military fulfilled with a whole heart.

We ask that you can send your support to Kyoungyoon, who will finish his duty in the military with persistence and come back with a good health condition.

Thank you."

On August 7, Dongyo Entertainment officially revealed that Kyoungyoon's departure from DKZ. According to the agency's announcement made on their fan community, the agency first addressed the idol's temporary hiatus back in April 20.

"Kyoungyoon went under a temporary hiatus in April due to health reasons and focused his time on prioritizing recovery. His health condition met good results and after recovering, Kyoungyoon talked with the company regarding his future schedules."

The agency then brought up how the decision of Kyoungyoon's withdrawal from DKZ was finally decided. It also disclosed Kyoungyoon's regrets for causing worry to both his bandmates and fans. It also assured everyone about his guaranteed support from the company.

"When our conversation with Kyoungyoon ended, it was decided that he'll now be wrapping up his activities with DKZ and enlist in the military this year.

Nevertheless, Kyoungyoon feels responsible for worrying fans and members of DKZ. For Kyoungyoon to meet fans again in the future with a good condition, he will receive our unwavering support."

Meanwhile, Kyoungyoon also followed up an emotional handwritten letter addressed to fans.

"I hope my decision will be understood by my fans. I also hope everyone will be in good health and be happy and be this way until I can return to greet you all again with a more stable condition."
