Girl's Day Yura Recalls 'Ulzzang' Days Before Debut + Witty Reply to Plastic Surgery Allegations
On September 28, Girl's Day Yura appeared on the YouTube channel, "nobacktak," hosted by MC Tak Jae Hoon.
On this day, Tak Jae Hoon brought up Yura's popularity when she was still a student in her hometown in Ulsan.
"I think you are from Ulsan. If you were this pretty, weren't you popular at school since you were in Ulsan?"

Yura humbly replied:
"It wasn't like that. I was just at the level of being a 'little pretty.'"
When MC Tak asked if there was anyone prettier than her, Yura explained:
"First of all, there is someone like Kim Tae Hee. Still, I was popular in high school."

In the past, it was revealed that Yura is actually an "ulzzang," also known as an internet celebrity known for her top-tier beauty.
She became famous after she uploaded her photos and videos in Cyworld, originally the top SNS platform used by Koreans, and also became a medium for Korean agencies to scout prospective good-looking trainees.
Due to her appearance, it was revealed that she got as many as 60 companies trying to cast her to become their model/idol, but she chose Dream T Entertainment and later debuted as a member of Girl's Day in 2010.
When asked if she ever had a plastic surgery, Yura declined to answer, saying:
"I don't know."

"You don't know because you're sleeping with anesthesia."
He asked again:
"Is your double eyelid yours?"
Yura said:
"Can't I just keep it to myself? But the double eyelids are mine. For the rest, look at my pictures from high school.”

As the conversation went on, Tak Jae Hoon brought up Yura's selection of Top 3 Idols With Best Bodies and asked if she still thinks she belongs to the rankings.
"Before, you mentioned that your Idol Body Top 3 was Seolhyun (AOA), HyunA (4 Minute), and Yura, but do you still think you are in the TOP 3?"
In response, Yura confidently said:
"I think I'll still be in the rankings. People told me that my legs are pretty."
Indeed, Yura's legs on top of her visuals are undoubtedly gorgeous and she had her legs insured for $448,000 at the time!
Her agency explained that Yura's legs are so pretty it doesn't have any single wound, thus, in case something happened, they advised the idol to get insurance for it.
Meanwhile, regarding why she selected Seolhyun, Yura praised her for having a "hot body," while she described HyunA as someone who has a "very pretty body line."
