On September 28, ZE:A member and actor Im Siwan was suddenly caught in a romantic relationship rumor with former IZ*ONE-turned-actress Kang Hyewon.

In particular, the suspicions sparked in various online communities when a post titled, "Rumored romance of actor Im Siwan and Kang Hyewon" spread among netizens and K-pop fans.

Along with the post, a viral photo which is said to be the "proof" was attached. In the picture, a man and a woman were seen taking a walk together. The man whose side profile can be seen was said to be Siwan, while the female whose back was only seen appeared to be Kang Hyewon.

They drew excitement as Siwan smiled warmly at the female star, as well as their ideal height difference.

In another photo, the rumored couple was also seen signing autographs for children at a meat restaurant with noticeable bright smiles on their faces.

When their photos circulated online, netizens and fans responded with satisfaction, saying:

  • "They look good together."
  • "I'm in favor of a handsome and pretty girl dating each other."
  • "Their chemistry is crazy."

Truth About Im Siwan, Kang Hyewon Dating Rumor

While there are a lot of online users who gave their approval if they were really seeing each other, some internet users, however, clarified that they seemed to have been photographed while filming a drama together.

In fact, the actor and actress were recently cast to star in the upcoming Coupang Play series, "Boyhood." The photos that circulated were said to be part of the drama, and the children asking for their signs while eating at a restaurant were child actors.

Fans expressed relief by commenting:

"So it was for a drama, it's a good thing."

Meanwhile, "Boyhood," starring Im Siwan and Kang Hyewon, depicts a story that takes place in 1989 when a lonely soldier, whose lifetime goal is to live without getting hit or hitting others, turns into the No. 1 most powerful one day.

Director Lee Myungwoo, who has created numerous popular works such as "The Fiery Priest," "Backstreet Rookie" and "One Ordinary Day," has taken the baton and the drama be released on Coupang Play in the second half of this year.

Im Siwan, debuted in 2010 as ZE:A member and after the group's hiatus, he became a full-fledged actor notable for his works such as "Moon Embracing the Sun," "Run On," "The King in Love," and "Strangers From Hell." Aside from "Boyhood," he's also set to join Netflix's "Squid Game" Season 2.

On the other hand, Kang Hyewon is a rookie actress who was a former IZ*ONE member. She started cementing her name in the acting scene with her past works such as "Best Mistake 3," and "Seasons of Blossoms."
